BU HUB’s “Cross-College Challenge” B2b copy
What is BU Hub?
My client for this copywriting endeavor was BU Hub, Boston University’s University-wide general education program that emphasizes working across disciplines to prepare students for an interconnected world. Students explore a variety of courses and innovative learning experiences to develop the essential skills that will serve them in their careers at BU and beyond.
Rather than require students to take a specific set of courses, the Hub helps them to develop practical experiences that job recruiters love. On that note…
Introducing the Cross-College Challenge (XCC).
Boston, a major international center, offers opportunities in fields like technology, the arts, health sciences, communication, finance, and education.
Imagine a team consisting of finance, engineering, journalism, psychology, and education majors bringing fresh perspectives to work on a common project. XCC affords students the unique opportunity to come out of their bubbles and collaborate with students outside of their discipline.
The result: students are better prepared to meet the future. And create it.
My ROLE?
To write copy — clear, concise, straight-to-the-point copy, per the client’s request — for a business-to-business informational brochure.
Projects for the Cross-College Challenge are proposed by clients from many sources including faculty, staff, alumni, non-profits, and entrepreneurs in any field; it’s up to the students to collaborate and bring their idea to life.
My target audience is the clients who would be proposing a project that BU students would then develop over the course of a semester. The best part? It’s free of charge.
